GXM is looking to hire a Human Factors Engineer and Ergonomist with advanced knowledge in physical and cognitive human factors topics. This position is a Consultant, virtual position with occasional work for meetings and demonstrations in the GXM Arlington Virginia office and the potential requirement for onsite visits to evaluate physical systems. This position in the future may become a full-time, exempt employee based on government and contract contingencies. If you are interested in working on challenging problems, having fun along the way with a group of passionate professionals, and making a difference for end users, you’ll fit right in.RequirementsPrimary Responsibilities· Create content for responses to government RFI and RFP in relation to human factors topics· Assist with technical writing for client-requested human factors documentation· Provide effective communication (both written and oral) on human factors topics to key individuals and stakeholders· Create UI mockups and prototypes· Plan and conduct user testing to include formal usability tests· Communicate with users to understand and evaluate problems they may encounter with specific systems· Evaluate, design, develop, and improve items such as user interfaces and physical systems, with a focus on usability· Evaluate, design, develop, and improve equipment ergonomics to increase comfort, safety, and productivity· Apply industry standard techniques for measuring and evaluating human performance· Analyze manpower and training requirements· Evaluate system safety· Perform other related duties as assigned· MUST BE A US CITIZENDesired Qualifications:· Bachelors degree in Human Factors Engineering, Ergonomics, Applied Research Psychology, or related field required; Masters degree in one of these fields is highly desirable· Current human factors knowledge with the ability to:o Perform workload measurement and predictiono Perform ergonomic evaluations and assessmentso Perform human error/reliability analysiso Perform impact of stressors on human performanceo Perform manpower requirements and analysiso Perform training requirements, analysis, and designo Conduct human performance modeling and simulationo Conduct manpower, personnel, and training (MPT) activities and evaluationso Understand a service blueprinto Conduct safety-related analysisGXM reserves the right to forward all materials submitted with applications to third parties that may be involved in the evaluation process.
