All candidates must apply directly through our job postings.Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the Senior Process Integration Engineer at MetOx plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless integration of processes across various manufacturing stages, contributing to the commercialization of high-performance superconducting materials.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality, to drive process improvements, yield optimization, and technology transfer. This position reports to the Director Process Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Development & Optimization
- Leads the development and integration of manufacturing processes for superconducting wire production, ensuring alignment between R&D and manufacturing. Identify interactions between processing steps and optimize for overall performance.
- Defines process specifications and collaborates with equipment and materials engineering teams to refine critical manufacturing steps.
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing process efficiency, cycle time, and cost reduction.
- Conducts root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective actions to enhance process stability and yield.
- Technology Transfer & Scale-Up
- Oversees technology transfer from R&D to production, ensuring that scale-up processes meet design specifications and operational standards.
- Oversees technology transfer from existing site into future manufacturing sites
- Collaborates with the Engineering and Operations teams to ensure processes are scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with company objectives.
- Quality & Process Control
- Works closely with Quality Assurance teams to develop robust testing and qualification methodologies for production processes.
- Ensures process integration meets quality standards and product specifications through statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE) methodologies.
- Troubleshooting & Leadership
- Provides technical leadership for troubleshooting and solving process-related challenges in production using structured problem solving methodologies
- Mentors junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation and process excellence.
- Documentation & Collaboration
- Maintains detailed documentation of process development, integration, and performance metrics.
- Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality to achieve company goals.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering roles.
- Experience with technology transfer, process optimization, and scaling from R&D to full production.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field.
- Experience working with high-performance materials or thin film deposition processes is highly preferred.
- Prior experience working with manufacturing start-ups and ramping from development phase into robust high-volume production
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE) methodologies. Rigorous data-driven approach to analyzing engineering trials as well as production data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve process issues.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to proactively identify and communicate risks and timelines to senior management.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
Physical Demands:
This position requires sitting at a desk and viewing a computer screen for extended periods while working or performing other office tasks. Ability to move around the office, including occasional standing, walking, and bending to retrieve documents, attend meetings, or use office equipment.
