The Retail Associate Team Lead role is responsible for managing retail staff, meeting sales and profitability goals, and aiding in the success of the retail store.

Duties & Responsibilities


The primary responsibilities for the role are:

  • Understand all CampSaver products and be able to effectively communicate that knowledge with customers.
  • Manage Retail staff including all scheduling.
  • Assist customers with exchanges and returns.
  • Be able to recommend gear and apparel.
  • Be a contributing team member who can provide input for improvement.
  • Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards.
  • Deal with issues that arise with customers.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills & Requirements 


  • Previous retail experience, including managerial responsibilities, required
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems setup and an understanding of warehouse management systems preferred
  • Must be available for weekend and holiday shifts as requested.
  • Good attendance and performance record in previous positions.
  • Ability to perform tasks with accuracy and organization skills.
  • Background in outdoor recreation, i.e. climbing, backpacking, hiking, camping, trail running, skiing preferred
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team is essential
  • Great interpersonal skills when dealing with customers
  • Works well under pressure
  • Ability to follow and understand written and verbal instructions which call for multiple different actions based upon product/descriptions, product quantities, product sizes and similar information.
  • Ability to sustain high level of physical activity related to typing, seeing, hearing, repetitive motion, lifting, carrying, pushing, and moving a high volume of products and cartons which weigh up to 50 pounds is required. 
  • Ability to sit, stand, twist, turn, bend, climb stairs, manual dexterity, and walking required, for entire shift duration or up 8 hours.
  • You must be a U.S. Person as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
