About The Team:
The Strategic Analytics Team at BlueLabs drives high quality, innovative research and analysis across BlueLabs’ client sectors, including commercial, political, media, and non-profit clients, to inform data-driven decisions and strategy. Team members analyze and interpret data, provide strategic program insight, drive innovation across sectors, and collaborate closely with both our client and technical teams. About The Role:The Director of Strategic Analytics will manage all aspects of BlueLabs’ client analysis needs, from guiding hard analysis, providing quality control oversight, and reviewing the client-facing materials that summarize our findings.
The Director will work with client and internal teams to translate data and modeling results into tactical and strategic insights that are complete, accurate, and actionable for client needs. This leadership position will directly manage a team of analysts, providing mentorship, problem solving challenges, and promoting cross-team collaboration.This position requires a mix of internal and external leadership, data and analytics expertise, and strong communication skills.
In this position you will:
- 50%: lead analysts on quantitative research projects (including analyzing experimental designs, RCTs, tracking digital marketing programs, interpreting statistical modeling, and survey development and analysis); provide thought leadership and innovation on existing analysis and inform new methodology; provide quality control oversight; and review client-facing materials before they are shared externally
- 50%: manage a team of 10 analysts, providing leadership, support, and resources to team members; establish and maintain team-wide data analytics best practices for the execution of our projects
- Work on research and development priorities with BlueLabs leadership
- Partner with our client leads to develop our general products, services, and approaches
- Provide guidance to individual team members’ priorities and staffing assignments as well as tracking team productivity and utilization
- Develop and grow our analysts and managers as leaders and strategic communicators
- Support client leads to help develop analysts’ skills and work product and help set expectations around deliverables
- Recommend and present opportunities for team growth and professional development
- Other duties as assigned
What We Are Seeking:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or relevant professional experience in a quantitative field
- 6+ years of relevant experience, including advanced analytics leadership
- 5+ years of team leadership experience, with competencies in the following areas: empathy, active listening, coaching/feedback, integrity, decisiveness, and problem solving
- Strong familiarity in individual-level statistical modeling, polling, managing experimental designs, randomized control trials (RCTs), or tracking a marketing program is a plus
- Strong experience with programming languages such as Python, SQL, or R
- A keen eye for how to visualize, present, and communicate data-driven solutions and tell stories from the data
- Proven success conducting data analysis on tight deadlines where the problem is unstructured, or the guidance is open ended
- Strong and broad technical communication skills
- Good attention to detail and are meticulously organized
