If you’re looking to bring your skills and expertise to a growing technology company, it’s time for you to join us!The Manual Test Engineer is responsible for defining, developing, executing and maintaining test environments, writing test cases and test scenarios, documenting test results and best practices.

Also, for supporting the software development team with analysis and debug of identified software faults. Project problem solving/decision making will be required.This position offers the flexibility to either be fully remote or follow a hybrid in-office ​model at the AirStrip office location in San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Design and execute manual test cases and scenarios to fully test acceptance criteria and requirements
  • Work directly with product managers/business analysts to understand requirements and expected software behavior
  • Provide defect reports to the development engineers and work directly with development engineers to troubleshoot potential problem areas
  • Analyzing, reproducing, and reporting component defects and special situations
  • Participate in review activities (project plans, requirement, design, and test case) to assume joint responsibility with other team members on quality and schedule
  • Design and implement QA test plans and test matrices
  • Identify and design test cases for edge case and negative test scenarios
  • Ensure that all above activities are conducted consistently and in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Estimation and planning
  • Research functionality and implementation of current and future testing techniques and technologies
  • Participate in departmental improvement and innovation processes to deliver projects that enhance project/department performance to enable positive business results

Education & Experience Requirements:


  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field of study or comparable job-related experience
  • 2+ years experience with software testing and methodologies
  • Preferred: 2+ years experience with: Mobile device (iOS, Android) and cross-browser testing
  • Preferred: 2+ years experience with: TestRail or similar test case management systems
  • Preferred: 2+ years experience with: JIRA or similar defect tracking systems
  • Preferred: 2+ years experience with: Git, GitHub, or similar source control framework
  • Preferred: 2+ years experience with: Microsoft SQL or similar database systems
  • Preferred: 2+ years experience with: Postman or similar API testing platforms

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team based agile environment with other technical staff, business owners and subject matter experts to understand product vision and requirements
  • Ability to analyze requirements and translate the requirements into test scenarios
  • Previous experience designing and implementing test plans and test cases for functionality that meets specified requirements
  • Ability to perform integration, functional, non-functional, and regression testing of different component levels. Other testing activities may include system, usability, and performance testing.
  • Previous experience with preparation, execution, and documentation for software component testing
  • Ability to report and document defects and discrepancies found during testing in defect tracking tool
  • Possess knowledge of SDLC, testing methodologies, testing terminology and processes
  • Excellent attention to detail, along with analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced evolving environment that requires quick adaptation and flexibility

The salary range for applicable US-based applicants to this position is below.  The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications, prior experience as well as geographic location. 

  • $50,000 - $70,000 base salary.
