Job Summary:
The Credentialing Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs focused on credentialing processes. The trainer ensures that all staff involved in credentialing adhere to organizational and regulatory standards, helping to maintain compliance and streamline credentialing workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Delivery:- Conduct comprehensive training sessions on credentialing processes, standards, and software systems (e.g., CAQH).
- Ensure trainees understand credentialing requirements, verifications, and licensure protocols.
- Provide ongoing education to new hires, existing staff, and teams requiring credentialing knowledge updates.
Curriculum Development:- Develop, update, and maintain training materials, guides, and manuals related to credentialing processes.
- Tailor training programs to address the specific needs of different departments (e.g Medical Staff Services, etc.).
Performance Monitoring:- Assess trainee performance through feedback, assessments, and observation.
- Identify areas of improvement and customize follow-up training for those needing additional support.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:- Ensure all training aligns with national and state credentialing regulations.
- Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure processes meet legal and accreditation requirements.
Technical Training:- Provide hands-on training on credentialing software systems and databases.
- Troubleshoot software issues and assist staff in resolving credentialing system-related challenges.
Collaboration:- Work closely with department heads to identify credentialing needs and adjust training programs accordingly.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in credentialing and provide guidance to credentialing teams as needed.
Continuous Improvement:- Stay up to date on changes in credentialing regulations, processes, and software updates.
- Gather feedback from trainees and make necessary improvements to training content and delivery.
Qualifications:
Education:- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, education, or a related field (preferred).
- Certification in credentialing (e.g., CPCS, CPMSM) is a plus.
Experience:- At least 3-5 years of experience in credentialing or a related field.
- Experience in training and development, particularly within healthcare or medical environments.
Skills and Competencies:- Strong knowledge of credentialing processes and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using credentialing software (e.g., CAQH).
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
