The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for managing the full cycle of accounting functions, including supporting daily operations, overseeing month-end close processes, preparing required reports, and assisting with year-end audits. The role also involves contributing to special projects as needed.Company Values:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts to standardize all balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform general ledger analysis and reconciliation of the company's balance sheet on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare journal entries for month-end accruals, prepaid amortization, interest on debentures, and other transactions.
  • Record cash transactions and complete monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of the year-end audit.
  • Collaborate with other departments to maintain accurate records and provide accounting support.
  • Provide assistance to the Assistant Controller and Controller as needed.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • CPA certification is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in general accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently within a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with Sage 300 or similar integrated accounting software.
  • Well-organized, proactive, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive business, financial, and employee information.
  • Strong proficiency in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
  • Ability to maintain open, direct, and positive communication with management.
