Overview: 


Associate Directors are the most important people at Directive. They are directly responsible for both client and employee retention and their performance is directly reflected in our P&L. As an Associate Director in one of our most critical departmental investments, you have the opportunity help shape both our product and culture. 

Roles & Responsibilities:



  • You’ll lead a pod of up to 5 Social Media Strategists. You’ll set the tone for excellence across your team and clients. 

  • Goal Setting: AsD’s are directly responsible for setting the goals for every client engagement in their pod. 

  • Best Practices: AsD’s are directly responsible for ensuring that every one of their client’s follows best practices and our unique methodology for LinkedIn Advertising.

  • Breakdown Barriers: Every great campaign lives or dies at the moment of approval. It’s your responsibility to understand these moments and support your strategist in earning a yes. 

  • Ensure roadblocks are a part of every 1x1 conversation with Strategists, and that an action plan is established to take down any roadblocks for the success of the strategy.

  • Accountability: We need leaders, not managers. Nobody wants a manager, everyone wants a leader. Build structure, create a cadence, support proactively, and empower your team with clear and concise communication + expectation setting.

What You Offer:



  • 4+ years experience working at a performance/digital marketing agency (bonus for B2B)

  • 2+ years people management experience

  • Deep expertise across paid social advertising campaigns, specifically LinkedIn Ads

  • Understanding of different Ad Units within the LinkedIn Platform such as conversation ads, document ads, ctv and more

  • Proficiency in using advertising platforms and tools such as LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Zoominfo, 6Sense, and more

  • Ability to delegate to team members to ensure joint success

  • Ability to de-escalate client fires and more importantly, proactively prevent fires from starting!

  • Strong understanding of Paid principles, including keyword research, ad copywriting, bid management, and campaign optimization

  • Ability to analyze campaign performance data using tools like Google Analytics, GA4, Excel, or other analytics platforms to make data-driven decisions and optimize campaign performance

  • Ability to drive results and measure via OCT

  • Experience with audience segmentation by tier, job title etc. 

  • Proven and measurable success with mid-market or enterprise accounts

  • Ability to translate and articulate strategy and tell stories with data

  • Equal parts competitive and curious; you’re a true problem solver

  • You live on the cutting edge of the industry, always looking for opportunities to grow and share

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • You’re quality-obsessed and have not lost your soul for advertising

  • Travel to visit clients approximately once per year, per client or as needed

  • Effectively manage a team of up to 5 Strategists and Senior Strategists

  • Meet and exceed department level KPIs, such as client growth and goal attainment. 

  • Build client trust and relationships that create consistent renewals with Senior Stakeholders

  • Cross-sell services that align with client goals and objectives

  • Offset client churn through referrals, upsells, and cross-sells

  • Clearly communicate results with client point of contact and executives

  • Exceptional decision making, as it relates to strategic direction for accounts and growth and retention of key talent

Work Environment Requirements


As a remote-first company, you’ll have the ability to work from anywhere in the US, with the option to enjoy our state-of-the-art offices in Irvine, California. For some positions, as posted, we will accommodate global opportunities where we have established businesses, including Canada, the UK, and Australia. For global locations, you must have established and current work authorization and permanently reside in that country.This role has the opportunity to operate 100% virtually from your home office.

We primarily collaborate with our colleagues through virtual meetings (Zoom), and Slack. In this role, you will be required to operate a laptop computer (PC or Mac available), computer software platforms, and other office productivity tools as necessary.
