Payments Gateway and Acquiring Product Manager
Location:
Remote within the US
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy & Roadmap:
- Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for the payments for all of Transacts gateway and acquiring services.
- Prioritize features, enhancements, and product innovations based on business objectives, customer feedback, and market trends.
- Align product development with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive insights.
- Understand industry standards for payments, including PCI compliance, 3DS, SCA, tokenization, and fraud prevention mechanisms.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering, design, operations, and sales teams to deliver high-quality payment products.
- Collaborate with external partners, including financial institutions, processors, and third-party providers to integrate new services and features.
- Act as the key liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure product vision alignment.
- Customer Experience & Support:
- Monitor and optimize the end-to-end payment experience for users, improving authorization rates, reducing failure rates, and ensuring a smooth transaction process.
- Collaborate with customer support teams to address issues and improve the overall customer experience.
- Data-Driven Decisions:
- Leverage data analytics to track product performance, user engagement, and transaction success rates.
- Implement A/B testing and other experimentation methods to validate product hypotheses and make data-driven decisions.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure the payment gateway complies with regulatory and security standards.
- Identify potential risks in the payment process and work with the risk and compliance teams to mitigate them.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of product management experience in payments, fintech, or e-commerce.
- Proven experience with payment gateway systems, payment processing, acquiring and issuing, and card brands.
- Familiarity with API-driven platforms and third-party integrations in the payments space.
- Experience with payment facilitation model and acquiring services.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of payment protocols (e.g., PCI DSS, 3DS, SCA, etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Aha! or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with acquiring platforms such as Global, Worldpay, FISERV, etc.
- Knowledge of emerging payment technologies such as alternative payments and digital wallets.
- Technical background in software development, APIs, and system architecture.
- Experience with Higher Education a plus.
