FS Investments is seeking for a motivated and skilled Associate/Analyst Data Engineer to join our dynamic data engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in data warehousing, cloud platforms, and experience managing data projects end-to-end. The successful candidate will work on complex data engineering challenges, build and maintain data pipelines, and ensure that our cloud-based data infrastructure is robust, scalable, and optimized for performance. This role will be based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
The successful candidate is expected to:
- Data Architecture & Pipeline Development: Design, implement, and maintain scalable data architectures and robust data pipelines using Airflow, Snowflake, and cloud technologies to meet business and analytics requirements.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Leverage cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) to optimize storage, compute resources, and overall data workflows.
- ETL & Data Transformation: Lead and enhance ETL processes for structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, focusing on efficiency and scalability in handling large datasets.
- Data Quality & Governance: Implement and monitor data quality checks, ensure data integrity, and contribute to data governance practices, ensuring high data quality and compliance.
- Collaboration & Mentoring: Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand and deliver on data requirements, providing technical guidance to junior data engineers.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously optimize data queries, transformations, and storage in Snowflake and cloud databases, ensuring performance improvements.
- Project Ownership: Take ownership of specific data engineering projects, from design and development through to deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Enterprise Software Development, preferably within financial services.
- Data Warehousing: Advanced proficiency in Snowflake or similar data warehousing solutions, with experience in schema design, query optimization, and data partitioning.
- ETL & Data Orchestration: Strong experience with Airflow or similar orchestration tools to automate and manage complex workflows and dependencies.
- Programming: Advanced Python skills for data manipulation, scripting, and automation.
- SQL Expertise: Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries on large datasets.
- Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure), specifically for data services, storage, and computing solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of additional tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, DBT, Docker, Datahub or Kubernetes for containerized deployments.
- Experience with big data tools (e.g., Spark, Flink) and advanced data transformation frameworks.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Background in implementing data governance and data quality best practices.
