IN A NUTSHELL
We’re looking for a Recruitment Director to evolve and execute our global talent strategy, helping us continue to grow our teams and build the foundation for Bellroy’s future success while keeping the culture we’re proud of. In this role, you’ll be responsible for recruitment delivery across Bellroy, managing sourcing strategies, time to hire, and, most importantly, quality. You’ll also stay focused on capability gaps and future needs, ensuring we’re always ready for what’s next.At Bellroy, we value recruitment processes that are thoughtful, inclusive, and designed to give both candidates and hiring managers the best experience possible.
You’ll oversee the end-to-end recruitment function globally, aligning our hiring practices with broader business goals and building a strong talent pipeline for now and the future. You’ll provide leadership and guidance to the recruitment team, helping them grow, thrive, and deliver exceptional results. If you’re passionate about leading recruitment across all levels (from junior roles to senior executives), take pride in delivering high-quality hires, and know how to build effective sourcing strategies, this could be the role for you.
YOU COULD BE THE ONE IF YOU HAVE...
- At least 8 years of experience in recruitment (either agency or in-house), with a proven track record of successfully hiring for junior to executive-level positions
- Experience mentoring and developing recruitment team members, with a talent for helping them reach their potential
- Expertise in sourcing candidates through various channels such as LinkedIn, job boards, social media, employee referrals, and networking events
- A clear understanding of market conditions, competitive landscape, and trends to provide strategic recruitment insights and recommendations
- A natural ability to network, build relationships and easily connect with all types of people – in person or virtually, you’re comfortable with both
- A knack for being able to feel your way through ambiguity, trust your processes, and make tangible decisions
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage recruitment delivery across multiple departments and regions
- The ability to build and maintain a talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs, constantly iterating on recruitment processes to improve speed, quality, and candidate experience
- The ability to have difficult conversations – with both candidates and hiring managers – when something isn’t aligning (you know it’s better to be clear and not to sugarcoat things, and you are able to show that you care about people while you do that)
- A genuine interest in how businesses operate and a curiosity about how the people you hire contribute to the bigger picture
IF YOU WERE HERE LAST WEEK, YOU MIGHT HAVE...
- Worked with our China Country Manager to localise hiring processes and brainstorm how to develop our employer brand in the region
- Tweaked the application process to capture candidates' real skills amidst an influx of AI-generated content.
- Analysed time-to-hire and quality-of-hire data, adjusting sourcing strategies to maintain efficiency and quality.
- Reviewed applications in our applicant tracking system and paired with a hiring manager to conduct a few initial video calls with potential candidates – helping the hiring manager to get a feel for the candidate, and making sure the candidate gets excited about the role.
- Held a training session for hiring managers to sharpen their interviewing skills.
- Attended a recruitment event to network with potential candidates and build future connections.
- Reached out to potential candidates on LinkedIn for a senior leadership role.
- Collaborated with the People and Culture team to use exit interview data for improving recruitment decisions.
- Shared sourcing techniques with your direct report to help them fill a hard-to-fill role and strengthen their active search skills for future roles.
- Researched employment brands and worked with our Socials team to build out a content plan for LinkedIn and other platforms
- Given helpful and honest (but always kind) feedback to a candidate about why we chose not to move forward with them
