Animal Health Care Denver is a locally owned veterinary practice in Denver dedicated to taking care of your pets when they need it most. We offer a full range of medical services for your pets, including preventative care such as annual exams and vaccines. We also offer dental care including polishing and cleaning, radiography, and extraction; and surgical procedures including both elective (spay/neuter) and emergency surgeries.At Animal Health Care Denver, we’re home to Dr. Cathryn Sayer, who has led the practice since 2014.
We also welcomed Dr. Zachary Scott and Dr. Nikki D’Anna in 2022. Our team is dedicated to providing stellar care for our clients and patients.
Who are we looking for?
Individuals interested in the position must be highly motivated and hold their team accountable, have strong computer and technology skills and is able to leverage available resources to improve workflows and efficiencies. Must be compassionate, cheerful, possess strong leadership skills and have a good work ethic. We are looking for just the right person who has leadership qualities and the desire to lead our team. Previous management experience in the veterinary industry is a huge plus!

Schedule:
Full-time at 40 hours/week minimum. Occasional weekends.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include day-to-day operations with a major focus on strong personnel management responsibilities including hiring, training and development.
- A strong commitment to the client experience is imperative to be successful in this position. Other valuable traits include strong initiative, understanding the balance needed between business and staff needs, and leading by example.
- Must have strong capabilities in: organization and prioritization, mathematical analysis (data management & interpretation, problem solving, and deductive reasoning), computer systems (our practice management system), and the ability to both formulate plans for improvement on your own and in conjunction with the rest of the management team.
- Veterinary industry experience strongly preferred.
Finance and Accounting
- Accounts receivable – manage any overdue accounts
- Accounts payable – submit invoices for payment and upload receipt
- Reconcile daily cash and credit card payment
- Review monthly financial statements (P&L among others)
- Manage payroll and submit in a timely manner
Personnel
- Work directly with the recruiting team in finding new talent
- Interview candidates
- Hire new employees
- Onboard and oversee training of all new staff
- Manage staff schedule
- Manage staff training protocols
- Conduct monthly staff meetings
- Conduct annual staff reviews
- Discipline and discharge employees, in cooperation with HR
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures and update as needed
- Mediate internal disputes
Safety and OSHA
- Maintain the site safety manual
- Maintain SDS book
- File workmen’s comp claims when needed
- Oversee x-ray safety guidelines
- Ensure appropriate handling and storage of all drugs and chemical
- Conduct safety training
Inventory
- Manage inventory in an efficient manner
- Maintain DEA logs
- Ensure safe and secure storage of controlled substances
- Return or dispose of expired medication
- Maintain computer inventory records
Client Service
- Handle client complaints
- Respond to client questions
- Create and adjust as needed a client flow system
- Manage schedule in practice management system
- Ensure client letters and cards are sent out in a timely manner
- Monitor new client numbers and client retention
- Monitor quality of service through client surveys
- Manage client reminder system to ensure best practices
Equipment and Facility maintenance
- Maintain computer system
- Ensure all medical equipment is maintained and serviced appropriately
- Oversee hospital cleanliness
- Address any facility needs in a timely manner
