A3 Technology, Inc. is seeking a motivated and skilled Technical Specialist to join our ASR-9 engineering organization. Airport Surveillance Radar Model 9 (ASR-9) is a terminal radar. The ASR-9 is a non-cooperative (primary) surveillance radar system that provides aircraft position and weather information to automation systems for air traffic controllers in terminal airspace. This role is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of technical systems and a strong desire to grow their expertise.
Essential Job Functions:
- Support our engineering teams in maintaining and improving our technical processes and systems.
- Work under direct supervision and team environment.
- Provide support in the Radar technologies and practices for the testing real time system composed of hardware, software and firmware.
- Support the development of kits that will be part of modifications to be sent to the field to include:
- Program, test and ship printed circuit boards (PCB) boards with various configurations to support project efforts.
- Building kits and digital wiring assets as needed.
- Order and prepare parts or kits for shipping and palletize.
- Assist in team efforts of design, development and testing modern solutions to incorporate into existing systems and equipment.
- Review and perform installation procedures for system modifications and verification.
- Work collaboratively with a team or as an individual on each assigned project to meet deliveries and deliverables.
- Track preparation and delivery status of required deliverables.
- Must be available to travel at short notice in order to provide 2nd level engineering support and/or to do new installations to support the ASR-9 sustainment efforts.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Microsoft Office – Excel, Word etc. and knowledge of personal computer and hardware/software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Radar and test equipment knowledge a plus.
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of related exp OR
- Associate degree in a relevant field and 1 year of related experience.
Additionally, US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is a must. Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates will undergo a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Government clearance.
