Do you ever find yourself looking at websites and thinking, “The writing is so unclear,” or, “Why can’t I find what I need?” If you answered these questions with an emphatic “Yes!” then a paid internship at Reingold may be for you.Reingold is a social-impact marketing and creative firm in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. For more than 30 years, we’ve developed and launched compelling, inventive communications campaigns that have supported clients in many sectors: education, military, health care, government, nonprofit, and more.We are seeking a content strategist and user experience (UX) writing intern to help make sure our clients’ websites never elicit such reactions.
Internships are full time (40 hours) during the standard workweek and pay an hourly rate of $20. The 2025 spring internship class begins on Thursday, January 23, and runs through Friday, May 9. Core hours during the internship are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern time. The spring internship requires in-office attendance at our Alexandria location five days a week.
What It Means To Be a Website Content Intern
At Reingold, you’ll join our new and growing web content strategy practice area. You’ll be part of a community of experienced and supportive professionals who create websites and web apps and who are eager to help you learn valuable new skills and advance your career.Intern responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with audience research activities, including stakeholder interviews, content-focused usability testing, and competitive analyses.
- Auditing sites to understand existing content and define gaps.
- Developing recommendations on how to improve web content based on user research and web analytics.
- Creating and contributing to content strategy deliverables, such as content outlines and web style guides, that provide a basis for content development.
- Assisting with content modeling and taxonomy design activities.
- Working closely with writers by lending a hand in the writing process when needed.
- Defining and executing content writing workflows.
- Researching and documenting best practices for website content.
- Participating in internal design reviews and strategic brainstorms.
- Performing tasks on an ad hoc basis, depending on your skills and our needs.

Required qualifications:
- Familiarity with writing for the web, UX design, information architecture, and interaction design.
- Strength in problem-solving and effective decision-making.
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently, managing complex and simultaneous projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to clearly convey information to upper management and clients.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Curious, creative nature; excited to learn new things.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.We recognize that web content strategy is a newer field and that many successful content strategists may have learned their skills in other fields. So we’re open to those who have the experience or education in a different field. Is your background in journalism, teaching, library science, research, or something else? That’s fine by us.
