System Integration Engineer – Heads Up Display – Neu-Isenburg
Here at Envisics, we are an internationally based innovator in the automotive industry specializing in the development and supply of holographic display technologies to Tier 1s and OEMs, with our primary focus currently on augmented reality (“AR”) Head-up displays (“HUDs’).Envisics’ holographic platform, which leverages a combination of complex materials science and proprietary algorithms (over 1000 patents issued or pending), enables unparalleled performance as it relates to optimizing both OEM manufacturing requirements and the end-user experience. Using the innovative technology of phase-only holography, we are making this a reality!The first product launched with our technology has now exceeded 200,000 units in production and appears in many Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.
This generation 1 laser holographic Head-Up Display (HUD) has paved the way to prove the technology's use in a mass production product. Due to growth, Envisics is currently looking to hire an experienced System Integration Engineer.As a System Integration Engineer, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary Engineering team that works between Envisics’ customers and the Envisics Product development team to understand customer requirements and to guide internal product and technology development to help expand our business.Duties and responsibilities:
- Lead HUD integration studies, demonstrating the benefits of Envisics’ solutions and supporting the development of customer Advanced Engineering demonstrations.
- Support customer meetings and engineering workshops and prepare materials and documents for customer submission with support from the other technical teams.
- Support system specification, simulation, implementation, and verification of Envisics products, ensuring the other engineering disciplines have a common understanding of the product requirements.
- Design and analysis of HUD optical systems, including opto-mechanical mounting.
- Conduct system level integration and validation of designs (testing and troubleshooting).
- Drive full documentation of mechanical design including BOM, drawings and procedures.
- Collaborate with the cross-functional team to explore concepts and drive optical system development to meet product requirements.
- Drive supplier choice, interaction, and management in order to deliver prototypes in support of concept demonstrations
- Support process validation studies and proof-of-concept HUD system builds
- Support the optical engineering and Mechanical engineering leads with the opto-mechanical system design.
- Support the Program Engineering Manager in handling numerous technical relationships and deliverables from the customer portfolio.

To be considered for this role, we ask for:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field of Optics, Mechanical or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in product development, ideally working with Head up display or display-related product within the automotive supply chain, or similar relatable experience.
- Proficiency experience with Zemax, Catia V5 or comparable CAD systems (SolidWorks)
- Highly customer focused with ability to support the customer’s technical requirements, which can include complex optical, mechanical, electrical and software issues.
- Hands-on product and application engineering skills across a broad spectrum: mechanical, optical, electrical, software engineering. Ability to work effectively and safely in a R&D-type office and laboratory environment.
- Experience of the following will be a distinct advantage: - Head-up Display and/or display-related products and technology- Automotive design (e.g. DFMEA) and part qualification and Production quality processes- Experience of using mainstream mechanical and optical design software tools
- High sense of responsibility
- Fluency in English and/or German
- Outstanding team capability, communication, documentation, and presentation abilities
- Experiences in assembly and integration
- Proficiency in ZEMAX or equivalent design tools
- Solution-oriented thinking and willingness to be part of new projects that push the state of the art.
