Position Summary:
The Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Euna Solutions will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems. This position will help with incident management, optimize performance, oversee change management, and drive disaster recovery planning. Additionally, the SRE will be responsible for managing capacity, ensuring SLA compliance, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and Information as Code (IaC) scripts. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with a strong background in DevOps practices and a passion for maintaining high service availability.
The ideal candidate will also excel in fostering strong relationships, building trust, and collaborating effectively across teams, embodying the principles of DevOps to ensure seamless communication and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:
- Incident Management:
- Lead high severity incident responses, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
- Participate in on-call rotations.
- Conduct post-incident reviews and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Performance Optimization:
- Ensure optimal system performance by identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks.
- Implement performance monitoring and tuning solutions to enhance system efficiency.
- Performance Testing:
- Develop and execute performance tests to evaluate system capacity and stability.
- Analyze test results and recommend improvements to meet performance standards.
- Change Management:
- Oversee changes to the production environments, ensuring compliance with change management processes.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to plan and review changes, minimizing disruptions.
- Disaster Recovery:
- Lead disaster recovery planning and execution to ensure business continuity.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery documentation and conduct regular drills.
- Capacity Planning:
- Manage system capacity to accommodate growth and handle traffic spikes.
- Perform capacity analysis and forecast future requirements to ensure scalability.
- Service Level Agreements (SLAs):
- Monitor and manage SLA compliance, ensuring services meet agreed-upon performance criteria.
- Report on SLA metrics and address any deviations from targets.
- CI/CD Pipelines:
- Manage and optimize continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- Ensure efficient and reliable code deployment processes across development, staging, and production environments.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code scripts to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Ensure IaC practices are followed for consistent and reproducible environments.
- Service Availability:
- Monitor service availability and implement measures to maximize uptime.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential issues affecting service reliability.
- Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive operational procedures and process documentation.
- Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible for all team members.
Required Skills & Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience specifically in a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role is required.
- Experience in incident management, including being on-call, is essential.
- Proficiency in performance optimization and testing techniques. Tools: Datadog or similar
- Solid understanding of change management processes. Tools: Jira or similar
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution. Tools: AWS Backup, Azure Site Recovery
- Knowledge of capacity planning and SLA management
- Extensive hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, including tools like GitHub or similar (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Azure DevOps), with the ability to mentor and guide others in best practices, is required.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools: Tools: Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible.
- Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS primarily.
- Deep understanding and active advocacy of DevOps culture and practices, which are integral to the way we work at Euna, is essential—this is about embodying a mindset, not just holding a title.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to take initiative and independently drive tasks to completion without needing direct instruction, are essential.
