Outreach Specialist (Wisconsin)

Performance Systems Development is seeking a high-performing Outreach Specialist to help drive program participation and help customers use energy wisely.The Outreach Specialist will work in a dynamic team environment on supporting the delivery of residential energy efficiency (EE) programs in Wisconsin through increased awareness, participant recruitment and communication.
In this role, you'll work closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, including home builders, Building Performance Consultants/HERS Raters, government agencies, utilities, industry partners, trade allies, and community organizations to build strong partnerships and support successful program implementation. Responsibilities include organizing and leading regular meetings to engage stakeholders, gathering input, addressing concerns, and encouraging active program participation. You’ll also design and execute educational and outreach initiatives to boost awareness of energy efficiency programs among key audiences, including businesses, residential customers, and institutions.

Who are you?
You are a skilled communicator with strong interpersonal abilities, and adept at engaging diverse individuals. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, you create impactful presentations and reports. Your exceptional stakeholder engagement skills help you build successful partnerships. Familiar with energy regulations and policies, you navigate the field effectively. With experience in construction and a solid grasp of residential energy efficiency and waste reduction, you pay close attention to detail, delivering high-quality work both independently and in teams.
You excel at conveying technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
· Drive participation in utility rebate program through recruitment of new Trade Allies. · Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including home builders, Building Performance Consultants (BPCs)/HERS Raters, government agencies, utilities, industry partners, trade allies, contractors, program participants, community organizations and other interested parties to foster strong partnerships and ensure successful program implementation.· Organize and conduct regular meetings and engage with program participants and other stakeholders to gather input, address concerns, and promote program adoption and participation.· Design and implement educational and outreach initiatives to increase awareness of energy efficiency programs among target audiences, including businesses, residential customers, and institutions.· Public speaking and presentations. · At the discretion of the Program Manager, regularly meet and work with the Marketing team to develop and deploy marketing materials intended to raise awareness and drive participation in energy efficiency programs.· Manage time effectively and within project budget constraints.
Submit time and expense reports promptly and per client and company requirements. · Review project submittals to verify compliance with program policies and procedures. · Review and approve program incentive applications. · Review energy savings calculations and project specifications and manage records in program database. · Contribute to program reports and presentations to communicate program progress, achievements, and areas for improvement to internal and external stakeholders. · Support trade allies to best identify their needs within the program. · Organize and attend meetings with trade allies to promote program success.
Need to Have:
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.· Experience with public speaking and presentation skills.· Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.· Ability to work independently and in a team setting.· Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.· Ability to communicate effectively with all types of people and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.· Must live in the state of Wisconsin and be able to travel around the state.· Must have a High School Diploma or GED. · A valid driver’s license and a vehicle suitable for interstate travel.
Nice to Have:
· Building science background, including energy efficiency certifications (RESNET, BPI); green building certifications (NAHB, LEED); home construction and/or related areas. · Familiarity with energy regulations, policies, and incentive programs is highly desirable.· HERS Rater certification is preferred, but not mandatory.· Experience with construction, residential energy efficiency principles and measures and/or energy waste reduction programs preferred.· Experience with residential building modeling software (REM/Rate, Ekotrope, etc.). · Experience delivering training or classroom instruction. · Event planning and execution. · RESNET Certified Rater, Quality Assurance Designee, ENERGY STAR®, Code Compliance, OSHA certifications or significant home energy rating experience is strongly preferred. · Spanish or other language skills, a plus.Physical Demands: Frequent use of the computer requires periods of sitting and close audio-visual concentration.
Physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations. Ability to drive in a car for long periods of time. Lift boxes of printer paper size (roughly 50 pounds). Work Environment: Field work is performed both outside and inside of buildings in varying weather conditions. Field work may include accessing attics, basements, crawlspaces, and other locations associated within the built environment. Office work is performed in an open and collaborative environment.
