Project Manager (Professional Engineer) in the Charleston, South Carolina metropolitan statistical area (MSA). The project manager will support writing proposals, mentoring field staff and project managers, client interactions, project management/review of field, lab and geotechnical reports.  Some field work will also be required managing projects through construction as needed.

Primary responsibilities will include:


  • Project coordination and project management of Special Inspections, Construction Materials Testing, and Geotechnical Engineering services
  • Client consultation and maintenance
  • Preparation of client proposals and report preparation
  • Providing oversight of field staff
  • Project engineering duties including data reduction, analysis & report review for commercial, industrial, retail, government, office, transportation, and residential projects
  • Occasional field work and special inspections duties: CMU Masonry, Concrete Reinforcement, Light Gauge Metal Framing, and Wood Framing
  • Providing assistance to other NOVA team members to promote the overall objectives of the company

The preferred candidate will have:


  • B.S. degree in Civil/Construction Engineering (or similar) from an ABET accredited College/University
  • 5+ years of experience with Construction Materials Testing (CMT), Special Inspections, and/or Geotechnical Engineering 
  • P.E. certification required
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to pass a background check and MVR report
