Position Overview:

As a Mechanical Engineer with injection molding experience, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and optimization of injection-molded components. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and develop injection-molded parts and assemblies using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Conduct feasibility studies and design analyses to determine product manufacturability and performance.
  • Create and interpret engineering drawings with GD&T specifications to ensure precise manufacturing and assembly.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to optimize injection molding processes and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Perform material selection and validation for injection-molded components.
  • Develop and execute testing protocols to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct and oversee First Article Inspections to verify that prototypes and initial production runs meet design specifications and quality standards.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and process instructions.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in injection molding and mechanical engineering.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, specifically with injection molding processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) and simulation tools.
  • Strong understanding of materials used in injection molding and their properties.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards (ASME Y14.5) and best practices in GD&T.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations is a plus.
