JOB TITLE: CIVIL ENGINEER – MUNICIPAL WATER/WASTEWATER FACILITY REHAB – HURRICANE RECOVERY
PROJECT LOCATION: ASHEVILLE, NC
iParametrics is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team to support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for a critical hurricane recovery project. This position will focus on rehabilitating municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities damaged by recent hurricanes the Western North Carolina area.
Qualified candidates who are not local to the project area will be considered. Approved travel and living expenses will be reimbursed under GSA rates.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Civil Engineer on this project, you will play a crucial role in restoring essential infrastructure to affected communities. You will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the rehabilitation of water and wastewater treatment facilities to ensure their resilience against future natural disasters.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop detailed engineering design studies and perform structural analysis for water and wastewater treatment facility rehabilitation projects.
- Prepare design memoranda, contract plans, and technical specifications for facility repairs and upgrades.
- Conduct site investigations to assess structural conditions and damage to existing facilities.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive rehabilitation plans.
- Provide technical support to construction field personnel and assist in resolving engineering problems during project implementation.
- Prepare technical write-ups and basis of designs for documentation reports.
- Review designs of junior engineers for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Conduct periodic inspections of rehabilitated facilities to ensure structural integrity and performance.
- This position will require travel/field work for site inspections and meetings with client representatives and construction contractors.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in municipal water/wastewater treatment facility design and construction.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, water treatment processes, and structural design principles.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HECRAS, ArcGIS and other hydraulic modeling tools.
- Prior experience with the Unites States Army Corps of Engineer water/wastewater or Municipal Water infrastructure projects preferred.
- Excellent writing/verbal communication skills for interaction with multi-disciplinary staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Compensation for this position is salary, $73,962-$135,000, based on experience, background, and skills.
