JOB TITLE: HVAC Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION
The HVAC Engineer will be responsible for the engineering and coordination of HVAC systems within large-scale projects, with a particular focus on the nuclear industry. This role will be engaged throughout all project phases, including planning, design, construction, and startup.The HVAC Engineer will lead technical evaluations, oversee the preparation of engineering specifications, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and provide guidance to teams across multi-disciplinary projects. This role requires strong experience in mechanical engineering and an ability to manage complex systems in regulated environments
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, organize, and coordinate HVAC engineering activities, with a focus on the mechanical systems of large-scale industrial projects.
- Engage in all project phases, including planning, design oversight, construction, and project startup.
- Provide engineering expertise in the review and development of specifications, ensuring they meet both project needs and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee and review technical evaluations, engineering calculations, and project documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate HVAC systems into broader project designs.
- Offer technical guidance and direction to project teams, supporting both engineering and construction efforts.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local codes, particularly in the context of nuclear or highly regulated industries.
- Lead or support the development of project estimates, schedules, and staffing requirements as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or related field).
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in mechanical engineering, including estimating, specification preparation, and construction document preparation (nuclear experience preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local codes and standards related to mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with engineering project management and oversight across all project phases.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred but not required
- Extensive experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering teams and providing technical direction.
- Proven expertise in engineering evaluation and the oversight of complex mechanical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering projects and ensure successful integration of HVAC systems into large industrial projects.
