As part of our team, you’ll work closely with the marketing & product teams to enhance Fanbase’s engagement, support our growing community of HBCU interns, and strategically drive user acquisition.Job Description:The Digital Marketing Specialist will focus on supporting our HBCU internship program and will play a key role in structuring digital marketing initiatives to boost platform engagement, content quality, and growth throughout HBCUs across the country.
This position will be responsible for executing content strategies, managing engagement metrics, and collaborating with teams to onboard new users, creators, and partnerships to Fanbase.Key Responsibilities: 1. Internship Program Support & Team Assignments:
- Team Assignments: Oversee intern team placements, pairing interns in teams of two for tasks related to partnerships, user onboarding, and content creation. Ensure each team has clear objectives and closely track deliverables.
- Rotation Plan: Manage a weekly rotation schedule to diversify skill exposure for interns, aligning with calendar goals and marketing objectives.
2. Intern Onboarding & Development
- Develop and implement a structured onboarding process that includes a welcome packet with clear roles, responsibilities, and digital resources.
- Design a digital onboarding module accessible at any time for interns to review foundational information at their own pace.
- Collaborate with HR to manage onboarding timelines, track intern progress, and ensure smooth transitions between intern projects.
3. Content Creation & Curation:
- Training Workshops: Host workshops or provide resources on content creation basics, including filming, editing, and audience engagement.
- Weekly Content Production: Guide interns to produce five pieces of content weekly (videos, images, posts) and develop topics focused on student aspirations and the creator economy.
- Support the curation of content for feature promotion on Flickz and create a series that captures trending topics to attract and engage users.
4. Community Engagement & Growth:
- Encourage interns to organize weekly audio rooms on relevant themes to foster community interaction and discussion.
- Develop strategies to onboard campus clubs and organizations to Fanbase, enhancing the platform’s reach within the AUC.
5. Intern Management & Communication Tools:
- Dashboard Creation: Set up a weekly checklist in Slack to help interns track tasks and stay aligned with key priorities.
- Regularly communicate updates to roles, responsibilities, and tasks through a dynamic FAQ hub, ensuring interns understand how their work supports Fanbase’s goals.
- Develop clear guidelines on using tools such as Notion, Google Drive, and the Propel Calendar for efficient task and time management.
6. Activation Events & Brand Representation
- Work with interns to plan and execute on-campus activation events to demonstrate Fanbase’s features. These events should aim to onboard new users, with strategic use of Fanbase merchandise and branded materials.
- Ensure each event integrates scannable barcodes or QR codes for easy app onboarding, aiming to engage at least 75 new students per activation.
7. Metrics, Reporting, & Performance Tracking:
- Collaborate with internal teams to monitor Fanbase’s user growth and content performance metrics, producing reports that inform strategy adjustments.
- Track intern engagement and output, collecting data on user acquisition, content performance, and overall platform interaction.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in digital marketing, community management, or social media strategy (internship experience included).
- Proficiency with digital tools like Slack, Notion, and Google Workspace.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage interns’ workflows.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in creating structured onboarding processes and facilitating intern engagement.
