Duties and Responsibilities
- Control spray fluidizer within proper parameters to provide uniform quality, size, and rate feeding the kiln feed surge bins. This includes particle size adjustment, nozzle/orifice configurations, temperature control, and equipment operation awareness.
- Control raw material batching system through computerized process control; Respond to various process concerns as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records for the batching and fluidization systems. Log and figure rates of all scrap streams and return to process materials. Maintain up-to-date production/Q.C. data log.
- Sample, test, and analyze batching material and fluidizer product.
- Clean slurry filters, nozzles, fluidizer walls, etc., to maintain product quality, production rate, and generally clean work areas.
- Provide guidance to the QC and Maintenance departments with regard to troubleshooting equipment and processes.
- Assist with plant clean-up, bagging, and shipping of product as necessary when time permits.
- Must be able to work a 12 hour rotating shift including nights and weekends.
- Performs other related duties and/or special projects as required.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have the ability to:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of relative experience operating HMI systems
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an industrial plant setting
- Make strong, logical decisions during stressful periods of operation
- Demonstrate leadership skills
- Effectively communicate with others
- Work in a fast-paced environment adapting to change quickly
- Competency in general computer navigation
- Understand complex systems and analyze data for cause & effect
