Primary Function:
The Senior Director of Human Resources partners closely with the Executive Leadership Team and plays a key role as part of the Zoro Leadership Group (ZLG). You will be responsible for evolving and executing the HR strategy to support Zoro's continued growth. You will lead a team of HR professionals across multiple disciplines and you’ll bring a deep understanding of our endless assortment and customer-obsessed mentality, along with insights into how Zoro fits within the broader Grainger organization.
Building and managing strong relationships across the company will be essential to your success.You will be reporting to the VP, Human Resources and will be based in our Chicago office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on business strategy to align HR with organizational goals
- Lead all aspects of HR, including Talent Acquisition, Development, Compensation, DEI, Employee Relations, and HR operations
- Use data-driven insights to refine HR strategies and address organizational needs
- Proactively monitor the organization, offering leaders tools to address challenges
- Act as a strategic partner and advisor to Zoro’s Leadership Team to meet HR needs across the business
- Foster high engagement and a positive culture through programs, events, and development opportunities
- Lead the Zoro HR team, providing coaching and guidance to build a strong, high-performing team
- Maintain compliance in all HR practices, ensuring legal integrity
- Drive effective hiring, development, and succession planning to meet performance goals
Qualifications:
- 12+ years’ experience in HR with 7+ years’ experience leading people
- Prior experience in an online business, start-up environment as well as a traditional corporate environment are all helpful
- Proven track record of effectively translating business objectives into HR strategy, as well as executing and driving results
- Proven ability to develop, lead, motivate and manage teams
- Strong HR business partnership and executive coaching ability
- Demonstrates the Zoro Values (see below!)

- Aspirational and inspirational leadership
- Experience with SuccessFactors, Google Workplace, or similar systems a plus
