As a Director of Technical Delivery, you will take ownership of the successful delivery of project work by Hylaine Technical Services consultants and project teams. You will need to bring thought leadership, be results oriented, and operate at a high-level to support a wide portfolio of project and client work. Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure Successful Delivery: Providing leadership-level oversight and support to Hylaine project teams across an assigned portfolio of client accounts. Take proactive action to direct firm support and effort to the right places across the portfolio to ensure successful project delivery of high value solutions.
- Sales: ability to conduct sales conversations with current clients or working with sales team to bring in new logos. Partner with account leads and Client Engagement to define account strategies for each Hylaine client.
- People Management: heavy focus on the full life cycle of people management. Decision maker for interviews on technical practice, corrective coaching, performance management, performance improvement plans, and terminations / separations.
- Partner with the VP of Technology and other Directors to further develop the practice areas of Data Intelligence and Application Development.
With exposure to all our service lines and various clients, you must be comfortable working across technologies and industries. You will need to be able to “work in the grey” and calmly navigate challenging scenarios and circumstances with confidence and stable leadership. Executive presence and comfort interacting with client leaders are necessary in this role. You should also be passionate about helping others succeed.Expectations:
- Ensure project teams follow Hylaine delivery process including leveraging Hylaine’s TRUST agile framework, technical standards, and whole firm approach.
- Leverage internal and external feedback to constantly improve the quality of delivery on client engagements. Build trust with client executives and ensure client satisfaction with Hylaine.
- Be a reliable and available decision-maker for interviewing and sales exercises. This includes:
- Being final decision maker on interviews if discrepancies occur.
- Coaching and training Account Leads to be final decision makers for their accounts.
- Lead sales for current accounts through partnerships with Account leads.
- Lead by example by having account leads shadow and participate in pre-sale calls and turning discussions into proposals and SOWs.
- Provide guidance to Account Leads on active listening to Client challenges, gathering requirements, and scoping out work.
- Produce organizational-level guidance and training in concert with the other leadership (i.e., interviews, sales calls, lunch & learns, whitepapers, panel discussions, onboarding, coaching, and mentoring teams).
- Proactively identify at-risk projects or critical milestones to direct Hylaine’s firm support to the right places before problems occur.
- Proactively provide positive and constructive feedback to members of the consulting pool in both ad-hoc and periodic reviews.
- Provide delivery support to the Hylaine consulting pool with a focus on at-risk projects, challenging clients, project kickoffs, and other key milestones.
- Partner with Hylaine Client Engagement and Account Leads to define account strategies, and periodically revisit and adapt as necessary.
- Guide portfolio of accounts, adhere to varying client expectations, handling pre-sales, executive presentations and strategy.
- Become an expert in Phase Zeros and Hylaine delivery process including leveraging Hylaine’s TRUST agile framework, technical standards, and whole firm approach.
- Promote proper implementation, and superior solution architecture for technical components of Hylaine projects.
- Provide visibility to Hylaine leadership on the portfolio of accounts, focusing on actionable and decisionable data.
- Assist Account Leads with business cases and lead planning for and delivery of large complex enterprise transformations.
- Provide strategic thinking for the future growth of Hylaine (6 to 12 months out).
- Must show a proactive and not reactive mindset to solve problems, and stay ahead of workload - extra time at night or before work to free up days to flex and adjust as needed.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years outside experience with preference in a consulting environment driving data solutions.
- Ability to be hands on technical solution architect and lead whiteboarding sessions as high-level architect. Capability of developing baseline enterprise architecture skills. (goal to state that you need to be hands on for some accounts, ability to code, etc.)
- Experience managing multiple teams regardless of methodology or technical stack and ability to guide multiple projects and consultants simultaneously to support client delivery with minimal leadership involvement.
- Strong intellectual humility, technology understanding, curiosity, and ability to drive results.
- Proven track record of successfully running multiple accounts and all types of engagements with little to no guidance.
- Serious work ethic. This is not a euphemism for being willing to work consistent 50+ hour weeks but we have a track record of getting things done quickly and expect you to as well.
- Ability to inspire confidence through stakeholder alignment, effective communication skills and executive presence. This includes written and verbal communication to our teams and all levels of IT, leadership, and business (including C level).
- Must be able to juggle many priorities and shift context frequently to lead and support consultants and business development needs.
