Business Development Executive – Public Transit
We are looking for a Business Development Executive (BDE) who has proven sales experience in the U.S Public Transit sector. Specifically, we want a candidate who has previously sold technology solutions to Public Transit agencies and/or managed technology deployments with transit agencies. Examples include but are not limited to: CAD/AVL systems, APC or farebox systems, camera and security systems, cellular connectivity. This seasoned professional will have demonstrated success in identifying, qualifying, landing, and growing Public Transit accounts utilizing solutions selling techniques. The ideal candidate must be an effective strategist and communicator who can take a proactive, consultative approach in developing new business opportunities, managing relationships, and responding to the needs of clients & prospects.
The BDE will be expected to consistently meet and exceed client sales quotas of several million dollars annually. This position will report to the ENT Sr. Director of Transportation and work closely with operations, product development, and marketing staff. Transportation IoT (internet of things) experience a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Grow Client Relationships: Use a consultative approach to identify client needs and deliver customized solutions that drive revenue.
- Lead Generation and Follow-Up: Actively pursue sales inquiries and leads through various channels, including phone, email, and in-person meetings.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Identify and nurture sales opportunities, guiding them through the pipeline to contract and award. Maintain ongoing personal contact with key strategic clients, ensuring top-notch service and support.
- CRM Utilization: Effectively manage leads, contacts, and sales activities within the CRM system (Salesforce), ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to develop solutions that meet client and prospect needs. Collaborate with your Director, Executive Team, and Account Manager to create leads and support business growth.
- Market and Client Research: Conduct research on client needs, market trends, and upcoming opportunities within the connected healthcare sectors.
- Sales Strategy Development: Prepare and report sales forecasts, strategies, and performance metrics to sales management.
- Process Adherence: Follow established sales processes to ensure consistency in approach and client service.
- Proposal Creation: Develop high-quality quotes, proposals, and presentations to deliver compelling solutions to clients.
- Client Account Management: Serve as the primary contact for assigned clients, ensuring that their needs are met and identifying opportunities for additional business.
- Post-Sales Support: Work with operations teams to monitor service delivery and identify additional sales opportunities with strategic clients.

- Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.
