Full-timeDescriptionMidwest Valve Services, a Novaspect company, is currently offering an opportunity for a Quality Assurance team member to join our fast paced, customer orientated team in our Woodbury, MN location. We are searching for an individual with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an office environment. Strong knowledge of computer applications including MS Word, Excel and the Internet is required. In addition, the candidate should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Quality Assurance Specialist Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Composes, controls, reviews and implements the “VR” and “Assemblers” quality programs in accordance with ASME and NBIC requirements
- Reviews ASME and NBIC Codes as well as API, MSS and ANSI Standards to ensure compliance
- Verifies qualifications of audit, inspection and test personnel
- Schedules and collaborates with the MVS QA Manager on the annual management review of the quality programs and its effectiveness
- Indoctrinates and trains personnel to the quality manuals and written procedures
- Implements the internal audit program
- Reviews vendor certification documentation for compliance to Code requirements
- Requisitions purchase orders to suppliers of calibration services
- Reviews and approves calibration certification documentation
- Maintains and updates the Calibration Master List
- Maintains calibration records
- Maintains training and qualification records of personnel
- Performs annual audit of field “VR” projects
- Responsible for successful passing of all National Board, customer and vendor audits
- Prepares and certifies all customer required documentation
Requirements
Quality Assurance Specialist Education and/or Experience:
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Extensive and exceptional customer services practices
- High computer application literacy including Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn internal business systems
- 5 plus years of valve repair experience to include pressure relief, on/off and quarter turn valves
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of ASME Welding processes and codes
- Understanding of order processing systems and delivery channels
- Able to manage difficult or emotional customer situations and respond promptly to customer needs
- Quickly embraces, learns and applies new technology and/or procedures
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication skills and proven ability to maintain high customer service
- Proven ability to build and support teamwork
- Will need to qualify as a National Board Certified Individual
- Overnight travel required, up to 30% of work schedule
Quality Assurance Specialist Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 30lbs
- Ability to work extended hours on a computer
- Ability to work in a loud industrial environment
Quality Assurance Specialist Pay:
- Salary Potential: $60,000-$70,000
- 5% bonus
