The Opportunity
We are seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test III (SDET III) at Observe AI. As an SDET III, you will drive testing strategies, collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and customer success teams to develop robust test plans and suites that support comprehensive testing coverage across complex features.
What you’ll do day to day:
- Independently design, implement, and optimize automation frameworks and test scripts, using best practices to improve reliability, maintainability, scalability, and coverage.
- Mentor junior SDETs and other team members by conducting thorough code reviews, promoting automation, and fostering knowledge-sharing in best practices and innovative testing techniques.
- Lead efforts in replicating and debugging complex, cross-functional post-production issues, working collaboratively to identify and address root causes efficiently.
- Oversee the quality assurance sign-off on multiple, complex features, ensuring a seamless and bug-free customer experience across high-priority releases.
- Estimate and manage time and resources for testing initiatives, managing the prioritization of tasks, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring deadlines are met consistently.
- Represent the customer’s voice within the team, prioritizing and advocating for test-driven decisions and improvements that directly enhance the end-user experience.
- Provide strategic input for improving QA processes, contributing to team-level initiatives, and implementing innovations in automation, CI/CD integration, and performance testing.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in Product Testing and Automation, with a deep understanding of complex testing environments and methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python) and strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and coding best practices.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing optimal test strategies for both Functional and Non-Functional aspects, including Load, Performance, and Security testing.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, and familiarity with containerized applications and microservices architecture.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of diagnosing and resolving complex issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire team members while fostering a collaborative team environment.
