Discipline/Role Vision
The Client Services team at Barrel is instrumental in building long-term, successful partnerships with clients by deeply understanding their business goals and aligning agency efforts to achieve impactful outcomes. The Account Strategist plays a crucial role in this mission, leading client relationships, guiding commerce strategies, and helping to optimize performance across the client’s digital ecosystem. By acting as both strategist and trusted advisor, the Account Strategist drives client satisfaction and business growth through insightful, data-driven recommendations.
Team Structure
The Account Strategist is part of the Client Services team and will report to Kate Fulks, Director of Client Services.
Outcomes
- Strategic Leadership & Growth: Successfully manage and grow client relationships by proactively advising on omni-channel marketing strategies, specifically around eCommerce, email, SEO and digital marketing
- Project Execution & Quality Delivery: Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects that align with client goals, budgets, and timelines, ensuring high standards of quality in all deliverables.
- Client Communication & Alignment: Facilitate effective communication with clients and internal teams to maintain alignment on project goals, timelines, and expectations.
- Financial Health & Profitability: Monitor project health, ensuring project decisions are financially sound and align with both client and Barrel objectives.
Key Requirements
- Demonstrated experience (3-5 years) in an eCommerce or Account Strategy role, ideally within an agency or similar setting.
- Knowledge of the Shopify ecosystem, including platform features, apps, and integrations, with the ability to translate this knowledge into actionable strategies.
- Analytical mindset and curiosity to dig deep into metrics and insights to support client objectives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present insights and strategies clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in tools such as Google Suite, Slack, Basecamp, JIRA, Harvest, and Forecast.
- Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, or a related field.
