We are seeking a highly creative, passionate, and motivated individual to join us in our quest to advance science and defeat disease. We are looking for a Sr. Manager, Lab Operations and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to join our team in Boston. This individual will be instrumental in managing lab operations across our Boston site and will have some oversight responsibilities for our SSF office. The successful candidate will have a passion for developing EHS programs, maintaining lab efficiency, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational protocols.
This person will play a crucial role in Frontier’s transition to a clinical-stage biotechnology company.
Requirements
What will you be doing?
· Oversee lab operations and EHS for the Boston office, with some oversight of the SSF office· Provide strategic direction and support to lab users, ensuring safe and efficient operations· Drive improvements in service, efficiency, and cost reduction through standardized practices· Develop and implement companywide EH&S compliance programs, including OSHA and other environmental regulations· Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and validated, and manage installation and training for large capital equipment· Oversee lab safety, including chemical storage, waste management, and compliance with SOPs, cGMP, and cGTP· Lead audits, inspections, and investigations, ensuring corrective actions are taken and compliance is maintained· Manage the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of laboratory supplies and capital equipment· Develop a business continuity plan, including extended-hours coverage and response protocols· Communicate and enforce lab safety rules and maintain up-to-date records of safety compliance· Collaborate with facilities and finance to manage vendor performance and maintain budget alignment· Respond to emergencies and maintain a readiness plan for both lab and EHS operations· Supervise facilities vendor management and performance against budget in collaboration with finance function· Ensure compliance with Local, State and Federal Regulations and Permitting· Alliance with Property Management· Response to critical instruments/equipment alarms 24/7
What are we looking for?
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as EHS, engineering, or the physical sciences; advanced degree preferred· 5+ years of experience in laboratory operations and EHS in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment· Proven track record of managing EHS programs, laboratory safety, and facility operations· Experience overseeing the setup, design, and maintenance of laboratory equipment· Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance (OSHA, EH&S, environmental regulations)· Excellent organizational and leadership skills with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint for managing budgets and presenting project updates· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service· Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary research team

At Frontier we strive to build a diverse and equitable workplace. The salary range for this role is $130,000 - $170,000. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including candidates' qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
