Hearsay Systems is looking for a talented junior Software Engineer to join our ever-growing Budapest Engineering Team! We have an ambitious growth plan that still ensures individual development in small teams.As a Junior Engineer, you'll have the unique opportunity to join a rockstar team and help develop a leading tech stack in order to empower a market-leading solution, in a micro-service-oriented development framework whose infrastructure is hosted on AWS. The role is well-suited for eager candidates willing to learn through close mentorship. The mentors will support Junior Engineers, teaching and coaching them and do everything to improve their knowledge to be successful.

About the role:
- Collaborate with various engineering teams, product management, and design to execute a diverse range of engineering challenges that touch every aspect of Hearsay products
- Writing and debugging code and troubleshooting software issues
- Working closely with product management estimation discussions with the product team
- Be directly responsible for a single component within the team
- Working closely with team members and cross-functional teams to improve the product’s functionality
- Share your thoughts on product features, the user experience, or literally anything else across the company
- Contribute to product architecture to ensure seamless development of new product features to support a fast-growing user base
- Interact with the cross-functional teams at Hearsay, including Sales, Engineering, Marketing, and Product Management
About you:
- At least a bachelor's degree, ideally in software engineering
- Some work experience with strongly typed OOP language like Python, C#, Java or Kotlin (at Hearsay you’ll work with Python and Kotlin!)
- You've got experience/knowledge in working across the technical stack, developing modern web apps, and building systems that scale
- Solid understanding of relational databases (tables, queries, data types, indices)
- Understanding of data flows between systems on networks and basic security constructs that are used in on-premise and cloud-based “enterprise” solutions
- Ability to learn new technologies and frameworks quickly
- Curiosity and being excited to solve open-ended challenges and find innovative solutions to challenging problems (Cloud, AWS, Azure etc.)
- Positive mindset and a solution-oriented attitude
- Ability to communicate in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
