Procon Consulting, a fast-growing professional services firm in McLean, VA with expertise in providing program and project management for design and construction, project controls, commissioning, construction-related technology, and facilities management, seeks a dedicated and experienced Construction Services Professional to join our team, supporting major projects at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian and Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in New York City. This role is essential to ensuring our projects are managed effectively, and safely, and meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. This is a 100% onsite position.
Core Responsibilities:
Project Scheduling and Management:
Review and manage Critical Path Management (CPM) schedules, report on project progress, identify potential delays, and coordinate solutions.
Technical Review and Compliance:
Continuously assess engineering and technical specifications for alignment with on-site conditions, and take corrective actions as needed in coordination with the project leads.
Documentation and CAD Work:
Develop and review statements of work, and create field sketches, CAD drawings, and supplemental specifications to support project requirements.
Contract Administration:
Manage submittal reviews, respond to RFIs, evaluate value engineering proposals, and draft necessary correspondence.
Site Monitoring and Reporting:
Oversee construction activities by contractors and sub-contractors, produce detailed technical reports, and ensure prompt resolution of any issues.
Coordination and Communication:
Work closely with internal stakeholders, including the Office of Protective Services, Office of Safety, Health, and Environment Management, and Office Facilities, Maintenance and Reliability.
Punch List and Testing:
Establish and monitor punch list processes and testing activities to ensure compliance with contract documents.
Safety and Physical Requirements:
Ensure site compliance with safety standards and perform tasks that require physical activity, including bending, stooping, climbing, and carrying up to 35 pounds.
Core Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in construction management, specifically in multi-discipline projects.
- Proficiency in using project management and CAD software.
- A BA degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and engineering standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and teams.
- Ability to work 100% onsite Monday through Friday.
