Process Automation Engineer Consultant
Position Summary: We are seeking a Process Automation Engineer Consultant to lead our automation and controls engineering team. This role involves designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting automated processes and systems at Levels 0, 1, and 2 onsite. The ideal candidate will manage a team, establish process control strategies, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. This is more of a building automation system type role, using Ignition SCADA primarily.
Primary Responsibilities:
BMS Process Owner (Schneider Electric):
- Engage in internal and external BMS meetings.
- Approve software change requests and coordinate activities with MFG or lab owners.
- Coordinate onsite activities and site/system access for techs.
EMS/SCADA Process Owner (Ignition):
- Run weekly meetings with the automation team.
- Update SOPs on alarm response and management.
- Respond to user questions and initiate change controls for system updates.
Site Process Automation Lead:
- Define and assess alarm setpoints across the site.
- Review and execute tech transfer risk assessments and change controls.
- Ensure validation and calibration impact assessments are performed and approved.
- Document all setpoint changes in the EMS/SCADA.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or technical services.
- Strong knowledge of process controls, automation, and systems, including Ignition.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills.
- Experience with cGMP in a biopharmaceutical environment.
