MacKay Sposito is seeking a Survey Technician to join our survey team in Federal Way, Washington. This role assists survey staff in preparation of supporting data for land survey projects. Conducts, analyzes and delivers specialized data for projects. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply survey information and reduce field notes to layout and draft designs and drawings for projects.
- Perform base mapping, overlay preparation, and work on storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and street design projects, including review site plans, layouts and publication mockups.
- Review and conduct field check data for compliance with jurisdictional codes, to ensure survey standards are met.
- Work with close supervision to complete a variety of office or field work as assigned such as preparing data, charts, plots, maps, records and documents related to surveys.
- Provide support to other departments such as preparing computer generated maps and exhibits.
- Prepare and maintain accurate survey and engineering records in support of licensed staff.
- Develop knowledge of federal, state, and local rules, laws, and regulations regarding survey.
- Occasional field work, including out of town travel.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2+ years’ experience in both field and office land surveying preferred.
- Proficiency with Civil 3D required.
- Experience with Trimble Business Center preferred.
- Must be a highly motivated individual with strong attention to detail.

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.The wage range for this position is $25.00 - $42.00 per hour. Depending on your placement in a Survey Tech 1, II, III, IV.Full time employees receive a well rounded benefit package including access to our company sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, and Supplemental Life Insurance plans.
