The Program Specialist offers an opportunity to develop and apply a broad range of skills related to creating new or enhanced travel insurance products and pricing, as well as managing filing and regulatory compliance for the travel insurance division. This role involves coordinating activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing support to stakeholders. The Program Specialist will work closely with multiple insurance providers, partners, and internal teams to optimize program effectiveness and enhance customer satisfaction.
Specifically, we're looking for a Travel Insurance Program Specialist who will focus on the following:program development
- Maintain a deep understanding of our products, pricing and underwriting processes
- Develop, modify and implement new product forms for travel insurance products, including policy, endorsements, schedules
- Work on assigned rule manuals for filing and maintenance
- Provide support to the rate development process
- Prepare filing submissions and responses using the appropriate software (SERFF, IRFS)
- Create filing documents such as letters, explanation of variable and other SERFF supporting documentation
- Track rate, rule, and form filings and respond by deadlines
- Maintain documentation archives of all implemented changes
- Conduct market research to identify industry trends and benchmark program effectiveness against competitors
product compliance
- Collaborate with Sales and Underwriting teams to design and create innovative and competitive travel insurance products that are compliant with state regulations
- Work closely with carriers and battleface stakeholders to review marketing content to ensure compliance with marketing/advertising regulations and clarity of product offering for the consumer
- Support the development of training materials and deliver training sessions for internal teams on program features and benefits
- Prepare and submit necessary reports to regulatory agencies
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
essentials
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Program Specialist or in a similar role
- Knowledge of insurance products and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite of programs including Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, as well as the NAIC industry portal – System for Electronic Rates & Forms Filings (SERFF)
- Work under minimal direction, both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- A clear and effective communicator with the ability to present information concisely
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
