As a Security Operations Engineer, you’ll help drive and execute critical security initiatives and independently manage our day-to-day security operations. You’ll work closely with the Lead Security Engineer to ensure our systems monitor, detect, and respond to security threats. This role is foundational to our commitment to security and stability, with high impact and career growth potential in a remote, fast-paced environment.This role is ideal for someone passionate about cloud security, threat detection, and DevSecOps. You’ll be a collaborative partner who enjoys problem-solving and taking ownership of security initiatives, comfortable with both high-level strategy and hands-on implementation.

You’ll also be a go-to resource for the security tools and services you oversee, helping shape our security culture across the company.Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Lead Security Engineer on strategic initiatives; independently handle daily security operationsOwn and manage our Security Operations Center (SOC) including SIEM, threat detection, incident response, and cloud security monitoringDesign and implement policies and procedures to strengthen security posture and operational efficiencyIdentify and execute security automation opportunities (e.g., threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management)Manage security incidents with timely escalation as necessaryConduct security audits and assessments to highlight areas for improvementOversee security for SaaS tools, custom admin tools, SSO implementations, and other critical applicationsManage, maintain, and support security infrastructure (SIEM, EDR, security monitoring tools)Develop and maintain incident response plans and security playbooksStay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies, making improvement recommendationsDrive security awareness and best practices across the engineering organizationQualifications:5+ years in security operations or a related security engineering roleProven ability to work independently and collaboratively on security initiativesStrong technical expertise in security operations, threat detection, incident response, and cloud securityProficiency in security automation tools and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash)Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM), including SSO and directory servicesExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and GCP preferred), with focus on security configuration, monitoring, and incident responseDeep knowledge of SIEM platforms and security monitoring toolsFamiliarity with application security tools and practices (SAST/DAST, secrets management, secure CI/CD)Experience with security tooling (EDR/XDR, vulnerability scanners, WAF)Strong understanding of network security and architectureFamiliarity with container security, Kubernetes environmentsAbility to work cross-functionally with engineering and operations teamsStrong organizational and project management skillsExperience managing security vendors and evaluating security toolsTeam-oriented with a positive approach to adapting and driving results in a dynamic environmentOur ideal candidate brings a blend of technical security expertise, operational excellence, and a team-focused mindset, helping to build and maintain secure infrastructure while fostering a collaborative culture.The annual salary range for this role is $140,000 to $160,000.

The actual salary amount will vary depending on the applicant’s experience, skills, and abilities as well as internal equity and market data.
