JOB SUMMARY:
Following instruction and direction from the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, this position will be responsible along with fellow cooks for the preparation and cooking for all culinary aspects of the performance food service catering operation for the Texas Rangers baseball team. Teamwork above all.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cross-train and work all stations: batch cooking, made to order cooking, food prep, grab/go prep, and a la carte production
- Receive and store grocery and vendor orders (must be able to lift up to 50#)
- Uphold the integrity and standards of all the products
- Maintain sanitation, cleanliness, and organization of kitchen at all times
- Provide professional service to all guests including players, coaches, executives, and team support staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years’ experience in food service, food safety, and customer service
- ServSafe or City of Arlington Food Handlers/Manager Card
- Ability to work and present well in an open kitchen environment
- Experience in preparing authentic Latin cuisines a plus
- Excellent knowledge of kitchen equipment, safe sanitary practices, and general culinary skills including: knife cuts, basic cooking techniques, proper food handling and storage
- Strong creativity and interest in building healthy meals with lots of flavor
- Ability to follow recipes as needed as well as being able to produce without recipes
- A working knowledge of culinary nutrition will help you succeed in this role. Each team member must be able to adjust recipes as needed based on headcount and overall production
- Willingness to help others and a desire to learn
- Adaptable, ability to work successfully under changing circumstances
- Confidence in the work you do, professional demeanor, and a service first attitude are a must
- Perform the physical demands – Remain on your feet for several hours at a time, ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds, withstand high temperature conditions, bend, kneel, and stoop
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
- A working knowledge of baseball is helpful
- Spanish fluency is a plus
WORK SCHEDULE:
- Your schedule will be built around the 2025 home game schedule (March 17 - end of September 2025)
- Approximate Shift times-
- 10:00am-10:00pm for night games
- 6:00am-6:00pm for day games
