Clarity Partners is seeking a
Water Main Planning Analyst local to Chicago, IL.
This person will be a key contributor to the planning team to make edits and updates to projects on a client facing engagement. This position will report in a hybrid setting.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and maintain the Water Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) lists for past, present, and future years, as well as manage the prioritized candidate project (hopper) list.
- Edit and update Water CIP project data, ensuring accurate communication of changes to teams.
- Oversee and respond to data and information requests from city agencies.
- Prepare and coordinate essential yearly reports for Budget Hearings and Aldermanic Briefings, ensuring the accuracy and completion of all data.
- Develop and finalize report packets for meetings, and update Power BI pages on the Alderman Portal as needed.
- Share relevant CIP data for Water, Sewer, and Sewer Lining projects with the Office of Utility Coordination (OUC) team.
- Maintain GIS-based CIP project status updates to support external agency coordination.
- Handle data mapping and reporting requests from clients, maintaining consistent quality and standards.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Public Policy, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar planning or analyst role, ideally within public infrastructure or city government.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Map/Pro with experience in mapping and data visualization; experience with Power BI for reporting and data sharing.
- Strong understanding of CIP processes, and familiarity with planning or policy work in public infrastructure.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data input, project updates, and report preparation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and city agencies.
- Experience in data coordination and project file maintenance in both CAD and PDF formats is preferred.
