Computer Systems Engineer/Architect

GXM is seeking to hire an experienced and talented Computer Systems Engineer/Architect with a passion for design, developing, and maintaining advanced tools and computer system networks. A candidate should have the ability to evaluate current systems, make improvements, and ensure that new systems are scalable, secure, and stable. This role requires a strong understanding of both hardware and software architecture, as well as the ability to collaborate with different teams to create innovative solutions.

Duties include but are not limited to


  • Design and architect complex system, including both hardware and software components, ensuring they meet business needs, scalability, and performance requirements.
  • Develop system specifications and define system architecture to ensure integration between hardware, software, and networks.
  • Evaluate and compare alternative architectures, and defining and articulating risks and opportunities associated with different system architectures. 
  •  Supporting requirements management, interface management, and architecture change management processes. 
  • Evaluate and select the appropriate technologies, platforms, and tools based on business requirements, system capabilities, and future scalability.
  • Prepare and present presentations to leadership which convey the need, the design, and the benefits expected from each project.
  • Analyze, organize, and translate requirements and pertinent data into MBSE SysML artifacts and elements. 
  • Utilize SysML tools to develop architecture, requirements, and behavioral and parametric models, aiming to provide various SysML views.
  • Lead the development of implementable strategies for addressing challenges in adopting MBSE and associated tools.
  • Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain clear documentation of system designs, architectures, and configurations.
  • Lead or assist in the planning and execution of system architecture projects, ensuring they are completed within scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support teams on system architecture best practices and troubleshooting techniques.

Requirements

  • MUST BE A US CITIZEN
  • TS/SCI Required; CI Poly desired
  • Must be able to work on-site (FT Meade) 5 days a week
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of experience in an IT related field or similar role
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, or similar issue tracking systems
  •  Proficiency with Model Based System Engineering principles and tools like Cameo Systems Modeler
