This role is hybrid with the requirement of being onsite 3 days a week.
Position Overview
Legacy is looking for a detailed and organized individual to step into the Senior Accounting role as Legacy.com evolves to handle growth and increasing complexity. The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and be responsible for monthly preparation of audit-ready account reconciliations and journal entries for cash, merchant accounts, prepaids, fixed assets, intangible assets, accrued liabilities, deferred revenue, payroll, lease accounting and other areas as assigned for completion before the close deadline.
Responsibilities
- Assist in improvements to account reconciliations, workpapers, processes and analysis by building clear, effective and efficient files to accelerate the monthly close for the main Legacy.com company and international subsidiary
- Prepare intercompany invoices and Arbor Day vendor invoices
- Review cash disbursement bank uploads prior to payments
- Consolidate and prepare US GAAP financial statements for the Company and its subsidiaries; ensure intercompany receivables and payables eliminate across entities, and identify and eliminate all intercompany revenue and intercompany expenses
- Prepare trend analysis on P&L accounts to identify unusual balances for investigation within the monthly close timeline, and provide analysis in preparation for review meetings with management and ownership
- Assist with ad hoc projects, as needed
- Work cross-functionally with other departments including finance, HR, marketing, and the subsidiary teams to help drive changes and improve reporting
- Assist with data validation for the implementation of a new ERP system and other system improvements
- Support the year-end financial audit with external auditors
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- CPA preferred
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
- Advanced skills managing databases and large data sets
- Demonstrated analytical capabilities
- Experience with Great Plains, QuickBooks online, or other similar ERP systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and consistent follow through on assigned tasks
- High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail

Salary Description$75k-95k + Bonus
