Full-timeDescriptionPosition Summary:The Driver Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the drivers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of orders and products to our customers. This role involves planning and organizing delivery routes, managing driver schedules, and ensuring that all deliveries are completed accurately and on time. The driver supervisor is responsible for administrative tasks such as maintaining the truck schedule, maintaining delivery records, monitoring vehicle maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
The Driver Supervisor is also responsible for operating a company delivery vehicle and participating in the delivery of orders to customers. All employees will adhere to company policies and procedures in accordance with the Mission Statement and Employee Handbook.Essential Responsibilities:
- Assign and supervise the daily activities of the delivery drivers.
- Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is ready for the road.
- Operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with local, state and federal laws
- Deliver and set in place restaurant equipment to customer locations
- Direct the loading of the trucks in an efficient manner for unloading and confirming customer orders
- Direct the loading and unloading of pallets of merchandise from box truck with use of a manual pallet jack.
- Ensure truck stock matches delivery requirements
- Read and interpret maps and GPS directions.
- Maintain and organize all delivery paperwork and deliver it to the proper personnel at the end of each shift
- Ensure the collection of the signature and/or payments at delivery locales
- Monitor and approve driver time clock punches
- Keep vehicle organized, clean and tidy
- Ask for feedback on services provided and resolve clients’ complaints
- Other job related duties as assigned by a manager.
RequirementsPrimary Qualifications:
- Knowledge of:
- Delivery scheduling and billing software.
- Bill of ladings, invoices, insurance certificates, and shipping manifests.
- Navigation tools and software using GPS instruments and maps
- Basic warehousing documents such as packing lists, purchase orders, and delivery slips
- Abilities and Skills
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
- Ability to use computer programs like Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to read, write and speak effectively in English. Spanish speaking is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must have excellent customer service and follow-up skills
- Must possess excellent communication skills
- Must be comfortable working in a warehouse type environment and outdoors
- Valid driver’s license
- Good driving record
- Ability to operate forklifts variety of weather and traffic conditions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Logistics Management and Route Optimization skills
- Education and Experience
- At least 2-years warehouse/delivery experience
- High School diploma or equivalency
Physical Requirements/Conditions:
- Physical Requirements:
- Pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screening.
- Must be able to climb stairs
- Must be able to operate basic warehouse material handling equipment such as:
- Four wheel carts
- Two wheel dollies
- Manual pallet jacks
- Daily activities will include:
- Standing
- Walking
- Bending
- Stooping on concrete floors and office tile floors
- Stand and walk up to eight (8) hours daily.
- Lift and lower boxes and objects 35” from the floor, 1-25 pounds 25 times daily; 26-50 pounds 10 times daily
- Operate a computer or handheld electronic devices.
- Working Conditions:
- Delivery in outdoors conditions, but will also work in the warehouse which is a non-climate controlled environment
- Temperatures in the warehouse range from 45 to 95 degrees
- Noisy atmosphere
