Internship Duration: 10 weeks, beginning June 3, 2025
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Primary Responsibilities
- Design and Programming Support: Shadow Designers and Programmers to learn design concepts, workflows, and best practices. Work alongside our Art & Design Team as a Programmer and Technician for Image Engineering and ImageSFX shows by:
- Prepping lighting, laser, and special effects equipment for show readiness.
- Assisting with in-house and on-site programming using design software and relevant consoles under the direction of a Lead Designer.
- Setting up equipment in demo spaces and at client venues.
- Laser Safety: Act as Laser Safety Officer for Image Engineering shows, managing the installation, operation, and teardown of laser equipment in the absence of the Lead Laser Designer/Technician.
- Documentation: Complete service logs and compliance documentation for laser shows as directed by the Lead Laser Designer/Technician.
- Skill Development: Progress in proficiency with design software such as Pangolin Beyond, Unreal Engine, Vectorworks, and Depence R3, as well as GrandMA 2 and GrandMA 3 consoles for executing lighting, laser, and special effects shows.
- Research and Development: Participate in the research and development of new technologies to enhance our offerings.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Art & Design and Engineering Teams to research and develop new proprietary equipment and software.
- Assist the Engineering Team in maintaining Image Engineering's proprietary gear, focusing on lasers, flame, and lighting equipment.
- Explore flame system integration in design concepts using GrandMA 2 and GrandMA 3.
- Serve as a general special effects technician as needed.
- Complete compliance-related training, maintaining OSHA and company policy standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to company procedures and guidelines.
- Support drone shows, pyrotechnics, and on-site operations as needed.

Requirements
- Able to work in a fast-paced, high stress environment
- Willing to travel frequently on behalf of the company on short notice
- Capable of operating independently with minimal supervision
- Willing to learn how to troubleshoot and repair special effects and event production equipment
- Able to frequently walk, bend, squat, balance, lift and carry up to 65 lbs.
- Able to pass background check and drug test
- Must be in junior or senior year of Bachelor’s program
- Authorized to work in the United States.
