Full-timeDescriptionThe Corporate Controller at Relevant Industrial, LLC is responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s accounting operations, including financial reporting, payroll, internal controls, compliance, and accounting policies. This role involves leading the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making. The Corporate Controller plays a critical role in safeguarding the company’s financial integrity and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with GAAP.
- Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies, including the preparation and filing of tax returns and other regulatory reports.
- Cash management: oversee all areas of cash management to ensure the company is maximizing cash utilization. Prepare bank reports to ensure compliance with credit agreements.
- Payroll: Provide support and leadership to the Payroll Manager to ensure compliance with all requirements and alignment with company goals.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional development. Ensure the department is properly staffed to meet
- Audit Coordination: Manage the external audit process, including the preparation of audit schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring timely completion of audits. This includes annual financial audit and bank field examinations, as required.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the CFO and VP of Finance in the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial data and analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and procedures, driving efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management, supporting business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Policy Development: Develop and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and best practices across the organization.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with other departments, including finance, operations, and senior management, to provide financial support and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Managerial: Direct Supervisor to the Assistant Controller and Payroll Manager
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior accounting or controllership role, preferably within the industrial or manufacturing sectors. Experience with acquisition accounting and integrations desired.
- Skills: Strong technical accounting skills, including expertise in GAAP or IFRS, internal controls, and financial reporting. Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software (Epicor Prophet 21 helpful) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Physical Requirements:
- Office Environment: Primarily office-based, with regular use of computers and other standard office equipment.
- Mobility: Ability to sit for extended periods and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
