GXM is seeking a highly driven Systems Engineer III to join our technical team. Our team is looking to welcome an experienced technical professional to work in support of GXM projects for government clients in the Fort Meade, MD (and possibly Quantico) area and in support of company-level efforts across project teams. The Technical Writer II provides writing and editing services across the Program. They contribute to producing and publishing program status reports, meeting agendas, plans and procedures, technical data and reports, and other program deliverables.
They collaborate with the Organization’s subject matter experts (SME) to design, write, revise, and/or edit technical documentation including program processes or presentations, SOPs, technical manuals, and white papers. They assist with updating and revising technical literature. The Technical Writer II receives direction from more senior personnel.Key Responsibilities:
- Advanced Documentation Creation: Independently author, review, and edit detailed technical documents like user guides, installation manuals, API reference guides, white papers, training materials, and troubleshooting guides.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Proactively gather information from engineers, developers, and other technical stakeholders to fully understand product features, functionalities, and technical intricacies.
- Collaboration and Communication: Facilitate effective communication between technical teams and end-users by translating complex technical concepts into accessible language, while ensuring accuracy and consistency across all documentation.
- Documentation Planning and Design: Participate in project planning phases to identify documentation needs, define content structure, and develop a comprehensive documentation strategy.
- Visual Aids and Design: Incorporate diagrams, screenshots, flowcharts, and other visual elements to enhance understanding and user experience within technical documentation.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks on all documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to established style guides and standards.
- Content Management Systems: Utilize content management systems to maintain and update documentation, ensuring accessibility and version control.
- Feedback and Improvement: Actively solicit feedback from users and subject matter experts to continuously refine and improve existing documentation.
Requirements
Required:
- Must be US Citizen
- TS/SCI Required, CI Poly desired
- BA/BS
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Technical Writer, with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality technical documentation for complex products or systems.
- Experience working with software development teams in an Agile environment is beneficial.
Qualifications:
- Strong Technical Writing Skills: Proven ability to write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation with a strong understanding of grammar and style.
- Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of relevant technical concepts, including software development methodologies, hardware systems, networking protocols, or other industry-specific technologies.
- Collaboration and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
- Information Gathering: Ability to conduct research, interview subject matter experts, and effectively gather necessary information to develop comprehensive technical documentation.
- Documentation Tools Proficiency: Experience with authoring tools like MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or similar content management systems.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous focus on accuracy and consistency to ensure high-quality documentation.
