We are growing, and while lean is great, we need more people, energy, innovation and talent.As a Development Manager, you will lead a small, dedicated team of engineers focused on developing and enhancing a specialized SaaS application. As part of a larger organization, your team will work in close collaboration with other engineering teams while maintaining full ownership of your application’s roadmap, development, and performance. In this role, you'll oversee and mentor engineers, manage project timelines, and ensure high-quality code delivery. While your team’s current focus is on a single application, there is potential for expanded responsibilities as the group and organization evolve.

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers working on new features and tackling technical challenges
  • Set strategic goals for the engineering team, aligning with Tulip’s overall objectives.
  • Partner with Product team to build the roadmap, plan and prioritize sprint tasks, and implement new features
  • Maintain and develop a scalable platform infrastructure to support current needs and scale for future growth
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and retention of our engineering staff, nurturing talent, and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Conduct performance reviews, offer constructive feedback, and champion continued learning and development.
  • Be an active member of the company’s engineering team and work closely with department stakeholders, serving as a link between the broader business goals and our technological capabilities

What you bring:

  • Minimum of 8 years of software development experience and 4 years of managing an engineering team
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and engineering teams in an Agile environment
  • Extensive experience in serverless development
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey thoughts effectively both verbally and in writing to multiple levels of stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with NodeJS, Svelte, and TypeScript
  • Experience developing with AWS services
  • Knowledge of NoSQL Databases - DynamoDB and OpenSearch.
  • Previous experience managing a team in a remote environment
