Duties and Role:
Under the direction CSSC and coordination with Engineering Maintenance Branch, the incumbent of this role will perform Network Information System (NISS)-related duties as follows:
- Advise the supervisor on scheduling and tracking of subject- matter expertise work for Deployable CIS (DCIS) assets in the Area of Responsibility (AOR) for corrective and preventative maintenance inspections (CMI/PMI) on all NATO CIS equipment based on Service Level Agreements. Furthermore, execute and report PMI/CMI or implemented changes following prescribed formats.
- Assist in scheduling and tracking of FSP activities in support of operations, exercises, projects for DCIS as assigned. Coordinate scheduled (based on the Service Delivery Schedule, SDS) work, executing assigned PMI or Changes (as of the Change Management Plan, (CMP), and CMI / repairs or replacements, reporting all technical work as of assigned reporting formats and standards.
- Develop detailed analysis of system deficiencies and provides advice on technical solutions in line with existing standards to ensure operational readiness for the AOR as tasked. Then, assists in preparation of future upgrades of the DCIS nodes providing feedback and drafting Technical Notes and further implementation of the approved changes.
- Provide on-site or remote support and guidance to the users referring to the IS issues reported to NCIA FSP (including but not limiting to ITSM tickets).
- Where needed, coordinate with other NCI Agency internal stakeholders technical aspects of the performed work.
- Perform all the duties respecting standards set by DCIS SLA, KPIs and the supervisors or other NCI Agency entities (such as CSSC). Ensures all CIS equipment discrepancies are fully identified, investigated, documented, reported and implements corrective actions in accordance with NCI Agency directives;
- Coordinate and execute assigned technical tasks efficiently in line with set target dates. Explains and provides system technical and logistical advice to colleagues and asset managers, and initiates necessary actions to meet set maintenance or repair targets.
- Implement received designs and configuration, based on documentation from assigned projects and for AOR systems, following required operating procedures and processes. Coordinates and implements procedures, tools and techniques for monitoring and managing performance of systems under maintenance and provides required reports.
- Provide On the Job Training (OJT) to Level 2 or 1 technicians, covering IS equipment and/or complete IS assets.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
Skill, Knowledge & Experience:
- The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
- Vocational training at a higher level in Computer Science, Mechanical, Telecommunications,
- Vocational training at a higher level in Telecommunications, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline leading to a professional qualification and 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience;
- Vocational training at a higher level in Information Communication Technologies (ITC) National or Military equivalent;
- Working knowledge of Local Area Networks (LAN)/Wide Area Networks (WAN) technologies, Transmission Control Protocol(TCP)/Internet protocol (IP).
- Working knowledge of routing and switching protocols, Voice over IP technologies and associated standards.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and LINUX server software
- Working knowledge of server and client hardware technologies, knowledge of Microsoft Pre-deployment Environments
