Windows Systems Administrator
Gray Tier is looking for a
Windows
Systems Administrator with a current TS/SCI Clearance for a new opportunity providing IT support to the National Security Council. We seek a technical, self-motivated Windows Systems Administrator, to be versatile and flexible to changing priorities from multiple customers. Leadership skills are highly desired.
Primary Responsibilities
- Organizes and directs the configuration and operation of information management systems.
- Responsible for directing the work of other system administrators to provide the day-to-day system administration to include system and resource optimization, and user assistance.
- Conducts capacity and performance analysis and provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations.
- Increases system administrator efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develops system administrator procedures, and conducts system administrator training and skills assessment.
- Knowledge of SharePoint applications and backend service operations.
Basic Qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related scientific or technical discipline and 8+ years of directly relevant experience is required. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- CompTIA Security + Certification
- Position requires an active TS/SCI. Candidate will go through NSC supplemental Clearance process
- Experience solving technical problems
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft 365 Certified or Microsoft Certified Azure.
- Basic familiarity with Jira ticketing /Atlassian Suite of products.
- Familiar with root cause analysis
- Understanding/experience with server virtualization
- VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V experience
- Basic understanding of high availability (HA) and Fault Tolerance concept
- Understanding/experience with Directory Services (Preferably Microsoft Active Directory)
- Basic Knowledge of group policy and AD group types. Security Groups and distribution groups. - Basic Knowledge of AD objects. *Anything more than user accounts and groups is a bonus.
- Understanding of PKI certificates - basic understanding - I.e., to authenticate the identity of a user's account before they can be granted access to a file or other resource in a domain network or for access to an application.
- Basic understanding of networking- DNS- IP addressing/routing
- Basic understanding/experience with web-based applications- Preferably experience managing/supporting a web-based application (bonus)- Knowledge of IIS Web servers would be a bonus.
