The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating various heavy equipment in the field in support of company projects. In addition to operating heavy equipment, the operator will be responsible for inspecting, providing preventative maintenance and occasional repair to equipment.

- Responsible for workforce compliance with all safety regulations including all OSHA requirements
- Must be able to work safely and efficiently with a minimum supervision
- Operate various pieces of heavy equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations
- Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers
- Interact with subcontractors and field personnel regarding work completion
- Report deficiencies in equipment and operational items in a timely manner
- Accurately maintain equipment paperwork and logs as per company policy
- Provide preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is safe and operating properly
- Regularly clean equipment to preserve its quality and functionality
- Complete project status documents including waste manifests and daily cut sheets efficiently and timely
- Ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment
- Ensure work areas are clean and safe
- Be a part of emergency response action team
- Wear appropriate personal protective (PPE) equipment for tasks
- Must be able to extend scheduled working hours to accommodate emergency coverage or complete work in progress
- Available to support projects throughout the state
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years previous heavy equipment experience (loader/track hoe/bob cat/combination back hoe/mini excavator/grader)
- Previous background in maintaining, inspecting, cleaning and repairing such equipment
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment operating front loader, lull, backhoe, etc.
- Working knowledge of safety procedures and application of safety principles
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus
- Class A or B CDL Driver License a plus
Language Skills
Abilities to read and interpret documents, able to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of personnel and employees.To understand and follow oral/written instructions, work well with culturally diverse people; communicate clearly and concisely in English, both verbally and in writing.

Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks. Will be required to sometimes wear face shield, work on ladders, tops of tanks and vehicles, and rooftops, and in adverse weather conditions.Specific physical requirements include the following:
- Exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Ability to stand, sit or walk for a minimum of 4 hours while conducting regular work duties
- Ability to respond to voice commands
