Senior Business Systems Analyst


Job Summary:


The Senior Business Systems Analyst role is responsible for supporting the annuity business line which includes Delaware Life’s legacy block and new product sales.  The Business Analyst proactively communicates and collaborates with business units across the organization to support their business priorities and deliver efficiencies.  The primary responsibility of the role will be in support of technology interfaces utilized in the industry to enable firms in their selling and post-sales activities, such as DTCC and DST feeds, Annuity Order Entry platforms, and other annuity B2B technology.  The role will also be responsible for working with our Third-Party Administrator (TPA), internal technical and support teams, supporting new product releases, and maintenance of existing platforms and processes.  As a member of the Sales Operations Team, this role will partner with other Business Quality Analysts to drive change and improvements in the B2B space.  The position will actively interface with business and IT intermediaries to understand and meet their needs.

Main Accountabilities:


  • Work with various business units to ensure that solutions are produced in accordance with the business requirements and are effectively validated.
  • Identify and communicate detailed specifications of technology and operations capabilities in support of our annuity products.
  • Review product and technical details of interface work including potential testing of files and data feeds.
  • Ensure needs and requirements of distribution partners are understood, documented, and communicated, in detail, to our development and operations teams.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans and assign and monitor tasks. 
  • Maintain accountabilities for all assigned work, provide accurate estimates on work to be completed, and provide descriptions of work completed.
  • Communicate status of ongoing work internally within team and externally with clients, where applicable.
  • Successfully manage competing priorities and navigate within ambiguity.
  • Represent Delaware Life on industry working groups for carriers, distributor partners, and platform vendors.
  • Provide support to business areas, investigate operational and technical problems/inquiries, and recommending and implementing solutions.

Qualifications:


  • Knowledge and understanding of electronic data interface (EDI) for annuities, such as DTCC files, order entry platforms and other technology interfaces with distribution partners.
  • Previous experience working with industry vendors such as DTCC, DST, Zinnia Consulting (Ebix), Hexure, iPipeline, etc. preferred.
  • Experience representing carrier priorities and exerting influence on the direction of the industry.
  • Detail oriented, with an analytical approach.
  • Previous business analysis and/or project management experience preferred.
  • Excellent problem solving, root cause analysis, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong team leader and results oriented.
  • 5+ year relevant annuity administration/operations
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
