Check out our GOASG websiteTechnical Project Management Job Description:A Technical Project Manager is someone who can be a strong communicator, a technical thinker, and a leader.

The technical project manager will be tasked to lead, facilitate, coordinate, and track activities required to ensure the project is completed on time, successfully, and consistent with organizational goals, departmental policies, established processes, and/or the standard terms and conditions of the contract. This role requires personal accountability when it comes to both decision-making and supervising teams.Key responsibilities:

  • Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines               
  • Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete 
  • Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project                         
  • Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy                                         
  • Navigating across diverse networks and driving to alignment between a variety of stakeholders (technical, management, quality, regulatory, etc.)                                        
  • Analyzing, planning, developing, and executing scheduled projects                                     
  • Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected                  
  • Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change                          
  • Manage technical or project issues and drive to resolution, assisting with technical input as appropriate.                
  • Be accountable for small project or entire deliverables and provide regular status reports to management            
  • Actively participate in technical meetings, document and follow-up on decisions/actions and maintain meeting minutes.                                     
  • Provide project schedule estimations / evaluate schedule effects of technical options                                                                             

Minimum Requirements:

  • Background of project management and technical                                                 
  • PMP beneficial                                                      
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485/Governmental Regulations and Medical Devices preferred
  • Understanding of regulatory and clinical context
  • Hands on ability to work with people to achieve results under pressure

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering, or technical degree
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, health administration, or equivalent with 5-7 years of experience in the field of medical device.
  • 7 years of experience in engineering, supply chain or a relevant role 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Behaviors:

  • Technical decision making and issue resolution

  • Knowledge of Design Controls and Design/Development Process: specifically, product design and validation (Medical Devices)
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, technical procedures, or governmental regulations                 
  • Strong problem solving, risk assessment, and risk management skills           
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills                   
  • Able to analyze problems, apply critical thinking, and find creative solutions                                      
  • Must be capable of working on multiple projects in a deadline driven environment                              
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and practices        
  • Ability to promote and train team engaged in identified scope
  • Ability to design and develop new technical and business processes                                       
  • Understanding of the project management processes, strategies and methods                                    
  • Understanding of schedule build and maintenance                                                
  • Ability to shift through project information and assist with determining priorities
